Dr Emily Shaw

Dr Emily Shaw is a Consultant Histopathologist at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Southampton, practicing in the areas of thoracic and haematological pathology. Her role involves supporting research and clinical trial activity and molecular diagnostic service development. Dr Shaw received her primary medical degree from the University of Southampton in 2002 and a Doctor of Medicine higher research degree in 2018. She completed her postgraduate medical training in the Wessex region, including Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists. Dr Shaw worked for Cancer Research UK as Clinical Lead for the Stratified Medicine Programme, a national pilot project involving the application of molecular diagnostic test to different types of cancer samples, between 2011 and 2016. Emily has been Pathology Lead for the Central & South NHS Genomic Laboratory Hub since January 2019.
